Our Ethos

Running an historic 400 year old country inn is a privilege! In a way Carole & I are “caretakers” looking after the Jubilee Inn until another generation take on the mantle of curator’s.

But it’s not only the fabric and features that need caring for, it’s the responsibility of giving the best you can. The best beer, food and accommodation; and above all the best welcome, hospitality and service with a smile.

Our ales and food are almost exclusively sourced from Cornwall and the West Country, making our offering the freshest and best possible. By doing this we play our part in reducing “food miles”.

We are passionate about training our team and equipping them with the skills and behaviours that make us a great pub to go to!

At the foundation of any food and drink retail business is the welfare of our guests and staff. We rigidly apply all the requirements under Health & Safety, Food Stands Agency and Fire Safety Legislation. This is supported by regular visits from quality standard organisations within the industry.

We adopt all the ethos and standards for Investors in People, and St Austell Brewery is duly accredited.

As can be seen in our biography we have a sound track record of good reputation and running national and regional industry award winning pubs.

We always strive to move forward and welcome whatever feedback a guest or resident would like to give us.
