The small local community are busy all year round organising many events including the fantastic firework display on the nearest weekend to Bonfire Night - 5th November, Christmas Lights and the annual Christmas Fayre - this year Saturday 6th December. The biggest event though is the annual Polperro Festival of Music, Dance, Art and Drama. 2009 will see its 14th year and with the success of the all weather arena on Big Green and its large marquee, you can now enjoy a whole week of free entertainment, events and live music. Other features include drama productions from our youth group and visiting company, dance, poetry plus an array of live music around the local pubs and inns, processions, morris teams and more. Here are some of the events going on all week, culminating in the internationally famous "Duck Race!". No we are not cruel - we race 500 numbered plastic ducks!
