Jubilee Inn and the community.

Like the local church, the local inn has played its part in our city and rural communities for a thousand years and more.

Today the Jubilee Inn plays its part and is proud to run weekly fun quiz nights supporting local charities. We are also a venue for charity and community fund raising events and as an example in October we host the charity Harvest Festival Supper and Auction.

Local beneficiaries since taking over the Jubilee Inn in October 2007 have been: Cornwall Air Ambulance, RNLI Polperro Branch, Pelynt pre School, Looe Gig Club, Polperro Festival, Ellies Haven hospice for children in Cornwall & Devon and the Trelawny Fair held every June.

When we proudly hosted last years Harvest Festival Supper & Auction on Monday 13th October 2008, over £800.00 was raised for ten local Cornish charities

Alongside our local church is our village junior school whose childens' choir sing "Trelawny" at events here at the Jubilee Inn. We are proud to support and encourage our young villagers and in May 2008 we ran a picture and project competion for them on the subject of Queen Victoria. Some forty superb entries were submitted and displayed here at the Jubilee Inn. Well done Pelynt School for their hard work and talent!

We are also aligned to the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust that raises over £20,000 every year via its managed houses, tenancies and free trade clients benefiting worthy individuals and organisation in Cornwall & Devon. For further information visit http://www.staustellbrewery.co.uk/

In the South West we have a heritage of supporting service pesonnel, wherever they serve or have served Queen and Country. Over Christmas 2008, in two short months £350.00 was raised here supporting the Ghurka Welfare Trust.

If you want to hold an event here supporting a local charity or organisation please ask any of our team for information. The Jubilee Inn is proud to be part of our community!
